Bios Lutein 6 mg capsules are a dietary supplement containing the carotenoid lutein. Lutein is an essential micronutrient that cannot be produced by the body and has antioxidant properties.
Lutein belongs to the group of carotenoids and is found in the yellow spot of the retina. It plays an important role for our eyes, as the yellow carotenoid protects the eye from damage caused by (sun)light and ensures sharp vision in the macula. Lutein absorbs blue light before it reaches the visual cells. This reduces the formation of free radicals that damage the retina. It can therefore reduce the risk of age-related eye diseases.
