Bios Jetlag 0.5 mg capsules are a food supplement with melatonin and tomato powder. Melatonin is an endogenous hormone produced by the pineal gland (corpus pineale) and regulates the circadian rhythm.
Jet lag is caused by a disturbance of the biorhythm as a result of long-haul flights to other time zones. Travellers often find this irregularity in the sleep-wake rhythm very unpleasant, as it often takes days to fully recover. However, the body's sleep-wake rhythm is controlled by the hormone melatonin, which is produced by the pineal gland in the brain: as darkness falls, the body increases the production of sleep-promoting melatonin; it becomes attuned to sleep.
Both when travelling and at home, this naturally occurring hormone can be used to combat tiredness the following day: Melatonin helps to alleviate the subjective feelings of jet lag and shorten the time it takes to fall asleep. This positive effect is achieved by taking at least 1 mg of melatonin immediately before going to bed.
Indications
- For a restful sleep
- To alleviate the subjective feeling of jet lag
