Bios Acetylcysteine 500 mg capsules are a dietary supplement containing 500 mg of N-acetyl-L-cysteine per capsule.
Particularly during the colder months, hardly anyone is spared: a runny nose and a scratchy throat. These symptoms are usually harmless, but extremely annoying. Acetylcysteine (ACC or NAC for short) breaks down mucopolysaccharides, thereby thinning thick secretions. After ingestion, ACC is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream via the gut and is therefore available to the body within a short time. In smokers, ACC has a lung-protective effect. Acetylcysteine is also a stable form of the amino acid cysteine, which is required, amongst other things, for the formation of glutathione. This important substance facilitates detoxification processes in the body.
