Biatain® Silicone is a sterile foam dressing featuring 3DFit technology, which moulds to the wound bed and reduces the build-up of exudate to create optimal conditions for healing.
With conventional foam dressings, a gap may form between the wound bed and the dressing. This can lead to the accumulation of exudate, which increases the risk of infection and delays wound healing (1–3). The Biatain Silicone foam dressing combines the 3DFit® technology of Biatain® foam with an additional super-absorbent reservoir and a gentle silicone adhesive.
The unique 3DFit technology: Upon contact with wound exudate, the foam with 3DFit technology bulges towards the wound bed, preventing the accumulation of wound exudate before it occurs. The microcapillary foam structure absorbs wound exudate vertically, thereby ensuring optimal conditions for healing. The wound exudate is now safely contained within the dressing, even under compression, which reduces the risk of leakage and maceration of the wound edges and the surrounding skin.
- Curvature towards the wound bed to reduce exudate accumulation
- Vertical absorption to protect against maceration and leakage
- High absorption capacity even under compression to minimise leakage
Indications
- True adaptability ensures close contact with the wound bed to reduce the build-up of exudate and create optimal conditions for healing.
- Micro-capillaries absorb exudate vertically and create optimal healing conditions with a 77% higher fluid absorption capacity for a longer wear time.
- Binds exudate and 99.98% of bacteria even under compression, thereby reducing the build-up of exudate and consequently the risk of maceration and infection.
