Biatain® Silicone is a sterile foam dressing with 3DFit technology, which adapts to the wound bed and reduces the accumulation of exudate to create optimal healing conditions.
With conventional foam dressings, a cavity can form between the wound bed and the dressing. This can lead to exudate accumulation, which increases the risk of infection and delays wound healing (1-3). Biatain Silicone foam dressing combines the 3DFit® technology of Biatain® foam with an additional superabsorbent depot and gentle silicone adhesion.
The unique 3DFit technology On contact with wound exudate, the foam with 3DFit technology curves towards the wound bed and prevents the accumulation of wound exudate before it occurs. The microcapillary foam structure absorbs the wound exudate vertically and thus ensures optimum healing conditions. The wound exudate is now safely stored in the dressing, even under compression, which reduces the risk of leakage and maceration of the wound edges and the skin surrounding the wound.
- Curvature towards the wound bed to reduce exudate accumulation
- Vertical absorption to protect against maceration and leakage
- High retention capacity even under compression to minimise leakage
Areas of application
- True conformability ensures close contact with the wound bed to reduce exudate accumulation and create optimal healing conditions.
- Microcapillaries absorb exudate vertically and create optimal healing conditions with 77% higher fluid absorption capacity for extended wear.
- Binds exudate and 99.98% of bacteria even under compression, reducing the accumulation of exudate and therefore the risk of maceration and infection.
