Atrauman® Silicone is a sterile silicone wound contact layer used for the atraumatic treatment of acute and chronic wounds. The silicone coating adheres gently to dry skin and does not stick to the wound.
Maximum protection for delicate tissue – even during demanding negative pressure wound therapy
Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer consisting of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mesh as the carrier material, coated on both sides with silicone gel (based on polydimethylsiloxane). This wound contact layer is designed for atraumatic wound treatment and is thin, soft, cut-to-size and drapable. Thanks to its open mesh structure, it is permeable to exudate. It adheres gently and securely to dry surfaces, but not to moist ones. This prevents it from sticking to the wound.
Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer that:
- Is used in the treatment of all types of superficial acute and chronic wounds with mild to moderate exudate
- Is used as a protective layer on non-exudating wounds and on areas of sensitive skin
- Is intended for use in conjunction with the Vivano negative pressure wound therapy system
