Due to their rapid growth rates, lack of nutrient reserves and the immaturity of various organs, preterm infants have specific nutritional requirements that are significantly higher than those of full-term infants. Our unique Aptamil Prematil has been specially developed to meet the increased energy and nutritional requirements of preterm infants weighing up to 1,800 g.

Directions for use

Dosage: The dosage should be determined in accordance with a doctor’s recommendation, depending on the child’s weight. The average intake is usually 150–170 ml per kg of body weight per day. Depending on the child’s age and tolerance, this amount should be divided into 6–12 feeds. Please use only the measuring spoon provided; when level, it holds approximately 5.6 g.

Preparation: When preparing Aptamil® Prematil, follow the instructions for use exactly. Incorrect preparation and storage may lead to health problems caused by the growth of unwanted bacteria. Prepare the formula fresh before each feed and feed it immediately. Do not reuse any leftover formula. Clean the bottle, teat and ring thoroughly. Do not heat formula in the microwave (risk of overheating).

1. Allow fresh, boiled drinking water to cool to approx. 40°C and pour 2/3 of the required amount of water into the bottle.
2. To ensure an accurate measurement of the powder, level off the enclosed measuring spoon with the back of a knife. Use only the measuring spoon provided. Add the required amount of powder to the bottle.Close the bottle and shake vigorously, then add the remaining water and shake the contents of the bottle vigorously once more. 
3. Open the bottle and attach the teat. Check that the contents of the bottle are at feeding temperature (approx. 37°C).

Important information: On feeding: Breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby. Please speak to your paediatrician or hospital if you wish to use Aptamil® Prematil. On use: Please use only under medical supervision. Aptamil® Prematil is suitable for the exclusive feeding of premature babies weighing between 1,000 g and 1,800 g. Dental health: Please ensure thorough dental care from the moment your baby’s first teeth appear, especially before bedtime.
