- Magnesium absorption from a full bath is influenced by the magnesium concentration, the body surface covered by the water and the duration of the bath. Magnesium absorption increases disproportionately with the concentration.
- The temperature of the water should be around 37 degrees Celsius and the bathing time should not be less than 20 minutes. At least 375 g of Poltinger Magnesium Flakes are required for a full bath in a normal-sized bathtub. To remedy a magnesium deficiency, two full baths per week over several weeks are recommended.
- Magnesium is known for its special effect on the skin. It moisturises the skin and improves its structure and elasticity.
- The foot bath is a practical and inexpensive alternative to a full bath. As the area of the body covered by a foot bath is much smaller and therefore less absorption surface is available than with a full bath, the magnesium concentration of a foot bath should be higher - between two and five per cent.
- In any case, the feet should be covered in water up to the ankles. A temperature of approx. 37 degrees Celsius is also recommended here. The exposure time should not be less than 20 minutes.
