Velnatal® Pregnancy + Breastfeeding softgels are a dietary supplement and provide a comprehensive nutritional supply of important vitamins, minerals, trace elements and omega-3 fatty acids for mother and child.

The ingredients of Velnatal" Pregnancy+Lactation have been carefully selected to provide the best possible support for all stages of your baby's development. Velnatal" Pregnancy+Lactation contains, among other things, SPMs - naturally occurring substances in the body. These are formed from omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, for example.

What does Velnatal® Pregnancy + Lactation contain and what is it used for?

• Folic acid/folate: Also known as vitamin B9, it is important for cell division and maternal tissue growth, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. Velnatal® Pregnancy + Lactation contains Metafolin®' - the biologically active form of natural folic acid, which does not need to be metabolised and is therefore immediately available to baby and mother. A low folate level is considered a risk factor for the development of a neural tube defect in the growing foetus. For this reason, women who wish to have children are recommended to take 400 µg of folic acid daily at least 1 month before and up to 3 months after conception. The development of a neural tube defect is caused by several risk factors; changing one of these risk factors may or may not have a positive effect.
• Iron: Contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin. Iron is therefore important for the transport of oxygen in the body and also contributes to normal cognitive function. Iron also plays an important role in cell division.
• SPMs: Stands for "specialised pro-resolving mediators". The SPMs contained in Velnatal® Pregnancy + Lactation come from 0mega-3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA).
• Zinc: Is a vital trace element. It is a component of numerous enzymes and proteins and is essential for a variety of reactions in the body. Zinc contributes, for example, to normal cognitive function and normal protein synthesis. Zinc is also involved in cell division and contributes to the normal metabolism of macronutrients.
• Iodine: is essential for the normal production of thyroid hormones and for normal thyroid function. Iodine also contributes to normal energy metabolism and normal function of the nervous system. Due to an increased requirement, the DGE recommends an intake of 230 µg for pregnant women and 260 µg for breastfeeding women per day. If you suffer from thyroid disorders, you should consult your doctor.
• Selenium: Is an essential trace element that is involved in many reactions in the body. It is a component of antioxidant enzymes and is therefore important for protecting cells from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Other selenium-dependent enzymes regulate the immune system and thyroid function or contribute to the maintenance of normal hair and nails.
• DHA: Is a polyunsaturated 0mega-3 fatty acid. The mother's intake of DHA contributes to normal brain and eye development in the foetus and breastfed infant. The positive effect is achieved if 200 mg DHA is taken daily in addition to the daily dose of 0mega-3 fatty acids recommended for adults (250 mg DHA and EPA).
